I am ready to start my HT build and would like some help. I've done quite a bit of research and its alll just confusing as I know alot more about CA than HT.
Here is what I currently have. Yes, its HTIB but its served its purpose for a short while.

I also have an HTPC and a 32" Vizio.
Here is the room.... Pretty self explanatiry. The recessed window shelf holds the TV, DVD, comp, and it did hold the PS3 till I sold it.
Obviously the 2 black rectangles are the couch and loveseat and where each of us sits. S1 is where the sub is now. When I start this new build, should the sub go in S1 or S2? I'm thinking that if in S2 it will drown us out. I also have no rears and no desire for them.
What I need help with is finding the good stuff. Granted, I want it cheap as possible but still have good sound. (Is that possible?lol)
List up what I need and a link would really work for me as I'm a noob to all this.
I think I just need a reciever and some good speakers. I want a good sub. 12' should do the trick and at what tuning? oh, and I need a plate amp as well. What about speaker placement?
I'm probably forgetting some stuff so just ask away and I will answer all that I know.
I'm thinking budget is gonna be around $500. That will not include sub inclosure or wiring. I'd like to get a decent sub off the forum if you have any suggestion good enough for HT duty. If we go over budget then I will have to piece it together.
In the meantime, can I get a sub and plate amp first and use it with my existing equipment?
