well i've been working on some box plans for a 15BTL. i have decided on going with around 4cu@33-34hz.

well since i'm no box calculator i used RE's calc fo a rough estimate of what i was looking at. after taking the measurements and dicking around in Sketchup i came up with this.(picture below)

i want to give kerfing a try but my dumbass is mentally unable to calculate the tuning changes.

with that being said. i need someone to help me with designing box plans with kerfing. like this!

dimensions of the box pre-designed box are

30" wide

17" tall

21.5" deep

the port was 3.25" before any kerfing began. with the kerfed opening i got 6.6"

before the kerfing the long peice of wood measured in 16.25" in lenght. the second peice of the port was 5.75" in lenght.

well as of how the design sits i have no clue how much the tuning has changed.

so instead of going through the hassle of trying to calculate all this.

i want to buy some detailed box plans on building a box like so.

cliff notes: WTB box plans for kerf ported enclosure of 4cu@33-34hz with max dimensions of 30"w - 17"H - 24"D.

i can go wider than 30" to 38" but i want to try to keep it at 30".

**** that box is HUGE!

To estimate the effective length, you should measure out the straight portion of the vent and then add 1/2*(internal flare radius of the port). So for your example box, it will be shortened about 1.5-1.75".

Also, your rear corner curve is not done correctly. The radial point of the outer curve should be identical to that of the inner curve, but the radius will be larger (add the width of the port to the outside radius of the inner corner). This will maintain consistent area throughout the bend.

well the measurments shown in the pic i count 1" per 1'. so instead of seeing it as 30feet i see it as 30inchs.

since you are well skilled in this area could you set me up a box plan in a design similar to the one you posted?

pm me price if you you can. would be much appreciated.
