In the picture does the offset increase (+10 or ex) when the wheel moves TOWARD the brake rotor, or vise versa?

OK, so positive offset is essentially moving the wheel closer under the wheel well, thanks.
not really, it's more moving the center of the rim (bolts) towards the face of the wheel. negative would move it farther away from the face. it's mainly based on the center of the wheel from the face to the rear. most cars now run a +32 to +42, germans run a bit higher.
