Ok man thanks I ordered it! It'll be here Friday! Yeah I watched the video and I really do think this will help! I didn't bother ordering the bass knob with it. It's like $30 for a bass knob... I already have a PAC LC1 that I can use. I can't wait to set this up and I hope it makes my sub LOOOUD!Yes, you might as well.
The video on the product page of the lc2 is pretty informative. Explains your problem in a nutshell
AVOID audiocontrol locs. get something that fixes the factory EQ and high pass filter like a jl cleansweep or digital sound processor. Audio control can give just as garbage ****** of a result as your LOCOk so you guys are suggesting I get a better LOC first? I really don't think I can change my HU.

wow! Ok I'll order one tonight!
so what is wrong with the audiocontrol units? I think I'm going to just use the lc7i but I will also be researching more into different things.AVOID audiocontrol locs. get something that fixes the factory EQ and high pass filter like a jl cleansweep or digital sound processor. Too many recent threads lately with people using audio control units having fked up results because they dont realize all it does is boost the signal strength, it doesnt process audio meaning it doesnt fix any inherent major issues with the signal aka factory eq curve, factory high pass filters that basically eliminates bass from the signal from the start.. thats to protect your factory speakers from blowing from playing too low. This means you never had a bass signal to begin with. Theres a reason why theres dedicated sub outputs in aftermarket head units. The audio processors actually decode out a dedicated bass information only signal which then gets amplified properly rather than trying to grab a speaker signal and trying to pull subwoofer information from that.
Ive fixed too many stock head unit + audiocontrol setups its fking annoying and amazing the level of difference they get from either a proper head unit, a proper dsp or that cleansweep
Highly advise you to return that lci7 and get something proper instead.
You need to look at the FiX units. The JL Cleansweep is discontinued anyway. I was trying to find a price for it but I can't.
you need full dspso what is wrong with the audiocontrol units? I think I'm going to just use the lc7i but I will also be researching more into different things.
Ok after reading your post again (I just woke up); you're saying that the reason the JL Cleansweep is better is because it fixes all the signal modifying that the factory HU does, so you get a flat signal? The LC7i does have accubass but idk about high pass filters. I'm interested in getting something that gives me a flat signal though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif. Maybe that's why my sub box seems peaky. Anything after like 45hz just gradually begins to get lower in volume.
Maybe it's better that I DONT fix my low end signal response just yet lol because the amp I'm running doesn't have a subsonic filter haha.
the fix is the easiest to work with. its automatic but less control. just depends how deep you want to get into itAlright well I cancelled my LC7i order. I want to do some more research on what to get. The JL FiX 86 looks very good.
I guess buying a DSP/LOC is equivalent to buying a head unit. You don't want to skimp on it because it's the source of your audio pretty much.
exactly, its the future. I did not change my headunit on my vw. has navigation etc. I bought a helix dsp loc (german) because it plugged directly in with a wiring harness. Was lazy.Alright well I cancelled my LC7i order. I want to do some more research on what to get. The JL FiX 86 looks very good.
