The AC unit does correct the sloped eq curve of factory units. I dont have vast experience, but when we swapped 1 in over a standard cheapie loc, the difference was huge. Perhaps user error on those other installs. Because I dont see how boosting line voltage to 6-7v and restoring the factory eq curve wont help

It doesn't restore anything, it just boost the signal better than other locs.

Ease of use. Interface. Tunes in like 20 min. I mean it all depends in reality. 360.3 is going to take some knowledge and reading to really tune. The ms8 with auto tune and built in mini amp would work better for you. It will auto time adj etc your whole system.

Should I buy an MS-8 off eBay for $400 plus $32 shipping? Or do y'all think I could get a little better price if I wait a little bit?
