Hey guys, I am wanting to get a new head unit but I am not sure what I want to get? The head unit I have right now is the Sony Xplod MP-80 which supposedly has this "anti-shock" , "G-shock" protection ********. Please help me get something better than that complete waste of a circuit board. By the way, it skips real bad if you couldn't tell.

Well, you could try turning it down...j/k. I am having the same problem with my panasonic. Skips whenever i turn it up or i go over railroad tracks or any sort of bump. I am not sure what your budget is, but i have been doing some research around here and have been looking into eclipse, alpine, pioneer, and kenwood. You might look at an eclipse 3424 for something basic. If you have the money, eclipse's higher model decks seem pretty hard to beat. I've also been looking at the kenwood kdc-X679. It has a 24 bit d/a converter and 5v pre-outs which looks pretty nice on paper.

Hey guys, I have been doing a little homework and I think I have found something I like. If anyone has any experience with these please let me know what you think. I would like to stay under $400 bucks if possible. I just want something that is good quality and that WILL NOT SKIP.

Those HU are decent. I have a sony CDX-M9905x and I thought the friggen thing skipped. Turns out this brand of Cd's I bought really ****!

Is your HU bolted in and are you playing original Cd's.

Eclipse and Panasonic are the best decks that I've owned in terms of skipping- the Eclipse by far has the best scratched CD reading capability, most of my CD's feel like sandpaper, no skipping

But yeah def look into getting a deck that'lll give you high voltage outs and 24bit DAC's -more technology for the money
