Well, mah tax refund is a commin back soon an if everytrhing goes right, I'll have about a $1K budget fer a new stereo for mah 300zx. That means head unit, mids, subs, tweets, amp and all. And ah want a nice big quality POWERFUL woffer to put in the back. So far, the best I can find is a guy offering a new 15" Cerwin Vega Stroker 4000w max 2000w rms fer about $250. Is that a good choice? Any better ones I can get without payin too much more?

1K for "head unit, mids, subs, tweets, amp and all" is going to be a tight budget for all of that. I would suggest buying your items on ebay or used. Most of the time they are just as good as brand new and could save you money to spend on your other stuff.

I think so. This is my first aftermarket stereo ever and I hardly know a thing. I just want something that can put out loads o power without compromising the sound quality or needing a $1k amp to power it.

1K for "head unit, mids, subs, tweets, amp and all" is going to be a tight budget for all of that. I would suggest buying your items on ebay or used. Most of the time they are just as good as brand new and could save you money to spend on your other stuff.

Ebay is where I found the strokers. It is definately my main shopping ground. I may be getting an additional $300-600 in may with the rebate. The head unit aint gonna be too expensive because I specifically want one that plays CDs, CDRs, and CASSETES. So its goin to be older and cheaper.

What condition is it? Im trying to keep with new equipment since im sure a lot o kids who dont know better abuse their subs. I want the power, but I want to treat mine easy for most the time.

Look into the CSS SDX15. They are just over $250 new right now iirc, hell of a deal.

Yep. Every Saturday night my 2 favourate radio shows come on and play all Irish folk music. I put a casset in and press record. I got many hours of great Irish and Celtic on cassete.

haha thats crazy I thought that stuff was gone. You won't be installing this yourself so there goes some more money and you will be best getting stuff on here.

Yes I am doing a self-installation. I have a Hanes car entertainment manual to help and I am doing it with my very mechanically enclined father. He does troubleshooting work on aircraft engines for Pratt & Whitney and has fixed our cars whenever there was I problem. I am currently replacing the engine and transmission mostly without his help so I intend to do the same with the stereo. I dont want anything fancy, just plan to be loud, clean and relatively concealed.
