I need a loud single 12"

Setup in sig, mayby im just expecting to much from a single 12" ? Or a different enclosure, just a normal ported box at say 38 hz?

For some reason, an SPL-oriented driver and a transmission line enclosure just don't mix.

If you want output you will not get it from a t-line. Like you said, build a ported box tuned to 38Hz. If that still doesn't satisfy you, then like the previous posted said, go with more cone area.

sounds like ur expecting a little too much from a single 12

move up to a couple 12s or even 15s if you really want "bass that hurts"

Yes I think you are right, I went to a local shop the other day in SC and one of the fellows that worked there had only about 2000 watts on a dd95 series and it was insanely loud, in the same car that I drive! But then again it was actually in a prefab box most likely tuned to 40's or higher.

Last year i was running a single boston g512 4 ohm dvc in an obcon dual port box that was about 3 cu ft tuned to 35hz. I was running the boston off a memphis mcd500 at 2ohms so the sub was getting 500 rms 1000 peak and I hit a 144db which was in a 97 grand am. It was loud enough that i had the sub turned down all the time as it just got annoying. I had the sub in a smaller ported box and it was loud but in the obcon box the sub really came to life. But with that box i had absolutely no trunk left. I still have the g5 but now its in a smaller box with a gtr passive radiator in an 02 monte and it sounds really clean and deep its tuned to 30hz. I really like it because it doesnt require a ton of power, it will get loud in the right box, and has pretty good sound quality as well.
