I need a HU for my Daughter's first car I just bought... suggestions?

Just picked up a 1995 Cavalier for her. The radio is a tape player factory unit and the reception sucks! For now she wants the CD capability but I know down the road she will want a sub, amp and speakers. She will also be adding XM at some point in the future... or maybe we will both switch and go Sirius. She likes my setup in the Honda and I will probably eventually give her the 600D and my RE12 box for her car so I can upgrade to something more extreme //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

So given that I would like to stay right aroun $200 for a new or maybe known good E-Bay unit. I see the Eclipse 8445 going on E-Bay sometimes from a guy in Canada in that range and believe it is just about the same as my CD-5000 which rocks. The current unit is 1.5 DIN. Should we stay with that? If so then I have a Pioneer DEH-77 which I could offer up or adapt it to the smaller size units. Some things we would like in order:

- Good reception

- Semi-high voltage pre-outs

- XM capable

- PEQ

- Possibly detachable or hidden face

- GPS option

- Decent display

- MP3 capable

- I-Pod capable

Because of the location of the head unit in that car, I would suggest another feature to look for: a motorized face with an adjustable angle setting. It's often difficult to see the display on new head units because they're set so low in the dash on the Cavalier.

pioneer deh-p9600mp, deh-p960mp off the top of my head. they are a little more than you want to spend but they are some awesome hu's

hey, i don't want to turn this into a "buy my headunit!" thread, but i do have an alpine 9855 for sale, it meets all the criteria that you have stated, and i was very happy with it. feel free to PM me if you're interested.

EDIT: sorry i didn't see the GPS capablility in your criteria

also, the pioneer 7700 is a great unit, a friend of mine has it and i was really impressed with it.

DONT BUY KENWOOD. I love everything about the kenwoods except for one thing. The new models have that gay search button that pisses me off. Its like a joystick and was the worst idea ever.

my apline cdm-7861 also has tilt, might not be able to find one though cuz its pretty old.
