I need a cheap head unit with EQ and sub control, thats it

wudup, I'm not looking to power any mids/highs, I just want a cheap deck with

1) a bass boost or EQ

2)Low-pass

3)Seperate 'sub' control instead of lumped in with Low/bass.

I don't need a frigginn' TV in it, or any snazzy graphics on the front, just function. I'm trying to get the cheapest decent option that meets those 3 standards.

That's about as cheap as I'd go... the next $20 lower priced units are kinda lame, IMO.

Or look in the classifieds and go used..

Great recommendation. It's hard to beat the lower-priced Kenwood eXcelon HU's for the money...great bang-for-your-buck gear. They have the basics covered( three-band parametric EQ, three sets of preouts, sub level control, hi & lo pass XO's,etc).

I'm still using the eXcelon KDC-X589 that I bought three years ago in my '98 CRV. I've never had a problem with it and it still fits my needs. In fact, I just bought a used one(in excellent condition) on ebay for $60 shipped since I'm upgrading the crappy factory system in my wife's Toyota FJ Cruiser.

I was seriously thinking about getting a new X492 on ebay but I thought I'd save the $70 extra that I would've had to pay and apply it towards a set of highly-rated Polk MOMO 690's(6x9's) for her front doors.

I have a Pioneer 6600 in very nice shape I just pulled out of my truck (replaced with 880PRS). It has sub output, OEL display, a decent amount of processing power, and is in very good condition. Just havent had time to get pics and put it up for sale yet....PM me if interested.
