Dilemma, jvc Kd-abt22 vs. Pioneer DEH-P800PRS

I am trying to decide between the two.

The jvc will run me $240 including shipping, The pioneer will be $326 plus $25 for shipping. Now I already have the siriusand ipod adapters for the JVC plus it already comes with bluetooth. All I would need to buy is the hd radio adapter along with the Headunit.

If I go with the Pioneer, I need to buy the ipod, hd radio, bluetooth and sirius adapters. That runs out to much more money in addition to the already higher price of the headunit. I am under the impression that the Pioneer is a better sounding unit. It comes with the Auto EQ and time alignment which the JVC doesn't have.

They both have Burr Brown Dac's and 5 volt pre outs though.

Basicly, how much sound quality would I be sacrificing if I get the JVC over the Pioneer? Thanks a ton in advance.

you can go active with the 800prs. can the JVC go active?

I dont want to run active. I am using the passive crossovers that came with my polk momos. Anyhow, I do you think that from a pure sound quality perspective, the jvc would be giving up a lot?

I own the 800PRS. Not sure of the features of the JVC usit. It was mentioned that you can go active on the Pioneer. It has a ton of features that you may or may not be interested in. Only reason I see you going with it over the JVC is if you wanted to try something new. Your car is already wired for the jvc and you already have parts for it. You could go with the 800prs and sell your old unit for money towards the other stuff. Or you could try and talk me out of mine and I could ship it to you tomorrow afternoon. I have everything with mine and I haven't really used it. I installed it for like a week or 2 then I took out my entire system.

I don't currently have a jvc system. I have a shitty jensen vm9512. A relative of mine had a jvc avx-33 so he had those accessories and they obviously work with the kd-abt22. I pointed it out to show how much cheaper the jvc deal will be because in addition to the already lower headunit price, I would be getting all the acc for free where I would have to buy them for the pioneer.

I know the pioneer is advertised as a high fidelity unit. i just wanted to know how much worse the jvc sound is if at all.
