i need a box size suggestions

I have a T1 power series 12" subwoofer (Rockford fosgate T112D2) The recommended vented box size it 2.25 cu ft. tuned to 40 Hz. Do you think i should build a box to theese specs or no? I have a 3.5 cu ft box tuned to 32Hz, it sounds ok but i want to change it up a little... i listen to all rap if that helps and im driving a sedan. btw i want the sub intergrated (back sticking out) so i need the gross cu ft i believe its called. im thinking 2.25 cu ft tuned to 31 hz since i want the sub backwards and itll save me about .5cu ftish? let me know what yas think... and thanks in advance.
