I need a battery today...which 1?

This morning, my car barely started. I noticed that with it off, my voltage sits at about 10.9V reading off the cap.

Looks like its time for a battery.

I've been thinking the redtop optima 35 or Die hard platinum group 35. I think the 35 is the biggest that will fit in my corolla. I was also opting to order Kinetic, but being that I need it today, Kinetik is out of the question. I also don't have any local dealers around here that sell it.

I figure Im gonna drop 200 today somewhere, with no time to order online, point me somewhere.

so i got the Duralast gold from autozone. 100 bucks. nobody had any red or yellows in stock. but the dg has almost the same specs as the yellowtop other than it being lead acid.

my car requires a group 35. i woulda bought the diehard platinum but it was a little too heigh and my cables are already stretched to the max.

car starts good now.

headlights still dim. I can see from the cap that voltage drops to about 12.5V. I plan on ditching the cap and only like it cuz of the built-in voltmeter. Should I add second battery, batcap, kinetic, or something like that? Would I need an isolater? My stock alt is only 80A. Egay has 120's for about 2 bills.

What the cheapest but effective way of stabalizing my voltage when thumpin?

if you were to keep that battery and add a deep cycle then yes, you would need an isolator.

you dont HAVE to have one but one of the batteries could draw the other down, you really should have gotten a agm or gel cell and put one under the hood and one in the trunk, both the same type

Now your getting into some money.

Heres my question. My ACDelco 550 CCA battery was on its last leg and suddenly died this morning. I bought the Duralast Gold with 650 CCA and 8something of CA, 100 reserve. I thought that it being new and all would help dimming issues. It has almost the same specs as a yellow top group 35. The only thing it helps with is starting easier/faster. So how would and AGM compare as the only battery under the hood? Without a need for 2nd battery.

Im almost tempted to drop 50 bucks on 6 farad power acoustik cap, but I know I'll get flamed for it.

If I do or can take the Duralst back to Autozone, anyone know the return policy or they'll be ***** and not take it back cuz I used it for like a day or 2?
