I am not merely basing this on XMAX alone, allthough the Motor/VC assembly is quite impressive with its excursion ratings- however, notice that Adire rates thier XMAX one way- that means that Peak to Peak excursion would be greater.Originally posted by Phatillusion Zane, you are impressed with the xmax for the adire audio. Let me point out that the Bazooka EL1204 xmax is 28.956 (if my source is correct). I have a pair of these in my car and they do hit very hard given the fact that they are only 200 wRms, and I am only running approx. half that. But they are not nearly one of the top speakers. So how can you say that the adire is very good based on the xmax?

Yes.Would you say that they would outperform the MTX 8124 both Sq and Spl?
And As Tom Nousaine puts it:
"Raw Drivers (for the project-minded): 12-inch woofer: best mix of price and performance for subwoofer projects. These guys have long, clean stroke: ...Shiva..."

Also, if you are familiar with a man by the name of Siegfried Linkwitz, (think- Linkwitz-Riley Crossovers) - check out what he had to say here:

The best thing you could do is check the shiva's out a little further here:No offense to anyone, I'm only trying to get my brother a good system, and if I can save him some $$, then that's tight, but I don't want to tell him to get something and not have it to perform as good as what he has in mind. He pretty much paid for my system which cost a total of $600, including everything from the HU to the wiring, I do my own installations, so I told him I would build him a sweet system. He really wants the MTX 8124, but if you can tell me that the adivas can outperform the 8124, then that sounds like a better deal to me.
Thanks

If in any further doubt, you may also wish to contact Adire Audio's CEO and Founder Dan Wiggins at dwiggins@adireaudio.com
Mr. Wiggins is a very freindly and knowledgeable person. He typically goes out of his way to explain things in detail to make sure that they are easy to understand for everyone. Believe it or not, he does talk to the everyday average joe quite a bit too. Mr. Wiggins sets a fine example for his company and is very professional and polite. Definately- a very interesting guy to talk with....
This should give you a place to start.
