I just got a $13.60 an hour job today

e-6 submariner in the navy

poor as hell only make 60k/year. Barely affording my 01Lexus, 89Supra 97Mirage 01Motorcyle...

Do you have something going on the side?....from an ex-E6 to another...E6's top at under$3000 a month and thats after 18 years of service. So unless you are almost doubling your pay with some sort of bonuses i can't see it. I mean 60k is 5k a month and you would have to be an E9 with 24 years of service to knock down 5k a month and since you're only 25...seems a bit stretched. Even with Career Sea duty pay which for you can only equal out to like 350 amonth. Hell i was an Army Staff Sergeant w/ combat/overseas and jump pay and wasn't even hitting $2500 a month.

I got a job at a local shipping place that ships doctor supplys and shit out to hospitals and what not, loading 1 pound to 90 pound boxes on a truck for $13.60 an hour.I also got a $1,800 sign on bonus...

Today was a pretty good day, considering im comming from a job that i was makeing $9.25 at

Just wondering what everyone else is makeing these days and what you do

I used to work for a local medical dis by where I live at. I live in ohio and we dont pay anything like that here for that type of bussiness. Hell I was there for a couple years and tops I made was 9.25 an hour. I started out at 7 an hour. Plus never got signing bonus. Just hard to believe someone would pay that much to load products on a truck.

Hell I work a kmat Dis Centere right now and there are people been here no longer than 8 years making what you do. The starting wage here is 7.85. I need to move to where you are, unless the cost of living is off the chain.

I do lost assest protection for them and make almost 10 bucks to sit on my *** and talk to you guys.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

im a waiter so it depends...some nights 20-30an hour with tips other nights 7bux an hour with tips...kinda sucks

My mom used to be a waitress and I remember sometimes she would come home with a wad of tips and I would help her count it. I remember times there would be well over a 200 bucks of nothing but tips.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif I was like man I want that job, mom. Then the next day she would come home with like 12 bucks in tips. I was like thats all you made. She was like yeah besides my 3.30 cents an hour. Man back in the 80's sucked lol!

Trust me, it was pretty hard for me to believe also...

Maybe my area is better in that sort of business the yours, i dont know. But FedEx was also looking for "package handlers" in my area, i chceked that out and they were offering $11.25 an hour to start, and also a sign on bonus, not sure how much but couldnt have been that bad.

^^yeah it sucks for planning bills and what have you...if you dont get the right shifts ur month is screwed...but when you do it more then makes u for it.

Yeah your right, but the bussiness is cut throat if I ever seen any. My mom did it for 14 years. Now she has carpo tunnel in her wrists and her feet are shot. So it has its ups and downs like most jobs do, but I will never do that, unless I am living out of a cardboard box, lol! Thank god my mom got a job at Delphi Packard. She makes like 30 bucks an hour and has been there for 12 years. But it sucks with all that shit going about them cutting back pay or letting people go. I hope my mom isnt one of them. Would be wierd to have my parents live with me instead the other way around lol!

What area do you live in?

Well, i sell cell phones, and other general stuff at Radio Shack, for 6.35/hr, + 4% Commision, + Spiff bonuses, to give you a general idea, and estimate, ill use today, which wasnt my best, or worst day, this is an avg day.

$86 Spiff Bonus + 6.35x8.5 = 52.70 + 4% of $1600/sales = $64 All totals up to $202.70 for the day.

$23.84/hr for today.

$8.50 an hour as a medication aid. I give like 10 people pills at an assisted living and then try to stay awake for the next 12.5 hours post wh0ring & doing homework. Not bad while in school because i get 36.5 hours over friday, sat and sunday night. Leaves the rest of the week off for school.

have to have 2 people 24/7...one being a med aid...and the other uncertifed aid..im just lucky i make more then the $6 the aid makes. The residents have their own aparments and go to bed @ like 8pm..so there is nothing to do. I pass a few more pills at 6;30am..do some vacuming and light cleaning and like 10 hours of every shift i have nothing to do.

wtf is a spiff bonus???
spiff = deal of the day

usually written on the sales board at the beginning of a shift. " X model camcorders are $10 per today". which means for everyone of that item you sell you get $10 in addition to the regular commision rate. in a service industry, it is usually a way to promote upselling.

SK's... Nukes... this site gets worse by the minute!!!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/hilarious.gif.02a037aad04aa96f19982b298a3d70a8.gif
Y'all got the easy jobs... Good bonuses, fast advancement, etc...

Of course, I cant really complain all that much, my last re-enlistment bonus was $37k for 5 years (4.0 for zone B). in 3 years from now, I'll max out (4.0 for zone C for 6 years).

But our advancement rate sucks!!! Corpsmen are the 3rd hardest to make rank in the Navy...
Now you're making me laugh, "we" got the easy jobs and you're a corpsman??? hehe, to find the doc on my first sub (boomer) you went to the lounge if there was a movie on, or the galley to see if he was playing cards, or his rack! Great guy, didn't do jack though.

I did my 6 and got out. I wanted an education, so I got paid and saw quite a bit around the world while getting it. I'm now IT manager for a decent size company, the attention to detail really does pay off in the long run. It's nice getting up at a decent hour, going to work, then coming home every afternoon and never having to think about going to sea or where my next orders will take me. Some people love the life, I enjoyed it while I was young but it wasn't my life.
