your right, that is the crime in itself......I work the system too.I show up with my lawyer everytime,he is also small time redneck type so its a match made in heaven he is an active 80 year old guy and knows EVERYONE since he has been working in this shit hole small city since years before I was born.........I did some work for him once and he offered to be my lawyer in exhange.....

We walk past the line of waiters like the parting of the red sea ,he heads right up to the frint and shakes the crooked judges hand and I watch them talk like they are old friends from WW2 or some shit - he does his song and dance about whatever(I cant hear I am 50 feet away) as I see the scummy cop who gave me the ticket and I point to him and say with an eye gesture "told ya id get off" - My lawyer returns with a plee bargain and says, youll have to paya small fee and if I keep my *** clean till the end of the year(about 4 months) there wont be a record of it on my file.......So in essence they made some money and my record wasent flawed by some BS cop who was doing business as usual.......

The system is a mess, not all criminals go to jail and not always is justace served

I am ashamed of when the battes I have lost when I was not guilty and I smirk when I walk away when I was really guilty...cops have quotas on tickets and push the system often to benifit these quotas

if they dont write X amount of tickets a month they actually get in trouble with the bosses

and they are counting on you to pay them and not fight.I am glad I dont get as many as I used to when I first moved to this god forsaken place they call the South, they are really not a cool bunch of people and really like to hassel the innocent while we are rated top 10 highest in crime and murder in the USA -

I think its because a cop was too busy making quota instead of busting some thug with a gun

with bad intentions
Wow. You should be a White Rapper! A Vanilla Ice, if you will.

This is actually spot in small southern towns. This is how it works, regardless of general public knowledge. I have seen police reports changed and side stamped, entire testimony perjured, altering of trial transcripts to deny appeal reversal, last minute switching of Jururs and DA's, hiding, altering and planting of evidence, you name it. From civil to criminal court it all comes down to what excelerater posted "MONEY".

Fortunately your guilty, so pay the ticket, none of this applies to you.

i hope you feel better that you are a whiney little bitch. this is what happens when you fail *** ed. some dope fucks some dumbass ho, and society is punished with you.

I've often wondered the same thing since that grim little episode. I assume he knew he had screwed up since when I was telling the Lt. about it he tried to lie about having threatened my life in the first place until he was plainly busted by someone that to this day I don't know.

Quite frankly I don't care, really.

I know he's not on my city streets threatening any more lives of people who happen to be committing the horrendously heinous crime of eating breakfast so I'm satisfied.

good story
Shoulda kicked him while he was down by filing a law suit. Normally I wouldnt condone such an action but he deserved it. Oh well, too late for that now.

Dont get me wrong, ending his career was good too. ANd //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/applause.gif.bb805d8088f72dbc2fe808c29e85fb4c.gif to the other people that said "yes he did"

And who ever posted that it's only the cop's word against yours, that's all he needs, he's sworn to uphold the law. The judge will side with him 99.9% of the time unless you have concrete evidence to dispute his claims.
I don't know. I am willing to be the average person is more apt to pay the fine rather than go to court. I cannot think of a single instance where a person is not given the right to at least 1 appeal.

I think it is possible to defend yourself in such claims if you are actually innoncent. In this case, the OP was not.

I was thinking of myself. I don't even have a CD player. Under your understanding of the law, he could theoretically give me a ticket for a noise violation and there would be nothing I could do, as it is his word against mine. Even if the judge ordered me to pay, I could get atleast 1 appeal.

This is very interesting from an economics perspective. It would seem like an obstacle such as the high costs of litigation actually prevent people from justice. The statutes are such that it is far easier to pay the fine for a crime you did not commit rather than defend yourself. Very interesting indeed.

Mother fuckin cops, I swear.. have no fucking compassion. I was rolling through town to pick up my girl from work with my system about 1/2 volume, which isn't that loud. With it being 10:00 at night, I wasn't going to wake everyone up anyhow. Anyhow I get pulled over by this fat prick, and I was explaining my situation to him which is; I got laid off from my job the 2nd of this month, and have less than $30 in the bank.. and can't seem to get my unemployment rolling.. anyways, he acted like he couldn't give a fuck less. I practically begged this fat bastard to let me slide.. and he refused. So this is my cop-bashing thread. I don't hate all cops, only the ones that are dickheads like the one in my situation. Feel free to add your own experiences to this thread.-Marcus

To anyone who I struck a nerve with, I'm sorry for acting like a dick. I apologize for my actions, and hope you fellas forgive me.. I hang out here alot, and I don't want any enemies.

im sure you were writing it out to vent some anger. . . .

I read the whole thread, and some people have already touched on it a little bit. But sometimes you have to put yourself in a cops shoes. These cops have to deal with the scum of the city on a weekly basis. Plus, NO ONE likes being pulled over, so just about every person they deal with is in a bad mood, whether they truly show it or not. Kind of like the dmv, no one wants to deal with it, but some do it better than others.

After a while, as in years, dont you think you'd get sick of hearing the same crap over and over again. Your job does change you, and thats why so many cops act alike I believe. I dont think anyone here can really say they know what its like to deal with what they deal with on a regularly basis. Ive been pulled over like 20 times and have dealt with my fair share of dicks. Ive been stopped for many things, mainly fix-it tickets for driving beaters my whole life until just recently.

I also live in an area with one of the highest police per capita in the country, which doesn't help. I am just always as polite as can be, and I NEVER try to argue it then and there. There is also court to do that.

I think that the statement, "**** the police" just epitomizes your ignorance. Until someone finds a better way to enforce laws, this is the way its going to be. No reason to complain unless you have a better method of enforcing laws. We NEED the police period.
