ok. I had my re xxx components running active on a DAT 4 channel amp...
right mid blew (resistance 17,000 ohms lol)...i figured from overpowering...since i beat the **** out of them. found someone with a spare. threw it in, and turned HU up to volume 5....mid dies again...By now im uber pissed.
so i trace wiring back to amp on mid and fina a screw sitting on its side under the carpet...went through pos and negative and basically shorted them together.
now my question...why didnt the amp go into protect or blow before my mid did? i dont understand why my mid would die and the amp would keep on playing...
and yes i know i am a stupid ass for assuming i blew the first mid from overpowering without checking wiring.
