I have $20K in the bank , and I need to build a musclecar.......

dude for you to make a 4cyl as fast as a v8 u have to drop 2k of the start get out of here with that rubber band B.S...............
Not even sure what the hell you are talking about by saying rubber band BS. I am guessing you are black? Either way, you are a moron, dude. Your statement is so vague it makes no sense and is false. Obviously it depends WHAT V8 you are talking about. There have been V8s that make noticeably less than my MR2 does stock, and the cars they were in were WAY heavier than my MR2. My MR2 is easily as fast as a lot of stock V8 cars from the same era, even many years later...

Have you read anything I have said? I have told you AND the OP numerous times I am not suggesting he gets an MR2. I am just wondering WHY if he is on a budget he wants to build a muscle car when a turbo 4 can easily be made as fast. I gave my suggestions for what V8 cars I would look at if I were him. I was talking about my MR2, it can beat/keep up with most stock V8s from the era it was made...

im not saying that u told him to get a mr2 specifically but you keep referencing yours so that is what i am talking about. but for the same price of the same exact turbo that you put on a 4cyl you could put on a v8 and then still more speed that is all im saying ive seen alot of ppl try and try to make there 4cly's fast and still cant beat v8's with small bolt on mods it all comes down to pure ci's.

Friends of mine have talons and eclipses that are pretty quick ( both mid 11 cars ) and the turbo spool is pretty fun. But like I said I want a v8 because if I drop 10k into my Bonneville it's still gonna be around the same power/ 1/4 times as a stang or ***** am with exhaust work and an intake.

I'm not going for the best the nicest the fastest or the biggest head turner. Just a fun car

And to answer the question. I guess to me personally. I would say for a 100% street daily driver. 11-12 second quarters are fast

No dude, I am sorry, but you are ignorant. Please show me a V8 car from the early 90s that can run mid 13s 1/4 mile with 50 dollars in mods? I honestly dont think there were any besides in high end cars, maybe Corvettes. Stangs/Camaros/Firebirds definitely werent doing it back then.

Yes turbos are fun, but I will agree a big V8 car can be fun also. Another thing I dont get is if this is going to be a daily street driver, why get something that will get 10-15 mpg when you can get something that will be just as fast and get 25-30 mpg? Sorry I am harping on the whole turbo 4/6 cylinder thing, I just dont understand the desire for a car that is worse in every way than another that might be considered "rice"

who said i was talking about 90's in the 1st place or $50 in mods???????? but either way u could half azz build a 93 gt with H.O. 5.0 and it would smoke that man sry but just cause you have beat or seen some redneck in his POS foxbody with probly no compression at all run like shiit doesnt mean all of them are bro????

You are saying how slow my MR2 is, obviously it is slow, it has 50 dollars in mods done. That is where I am getting at. Show me another car that can have 50 dollars in mods done and run mid 13s. Yes I know you could go buy a fox body and drop a few hundred or more into it and make it run faster, but stock for stock, my car is NOT slow for the price of it, even compared to big "manly" V8 cars. 100% bone stock on stock boost my MR2 would run mid-low 14s.

By the way, just wondering, what do you drive dude?

LMFAO, now you have just proven you are an absolute moron.

Here is a video of 2 bone stock JDM MR2s running 1/4 mile. The gen 2 is the same thing as all of the USDM MR2s. The Gen3 runs 13.3 and the Gen2(like mine...) runs 14.2. That is on stock boost(around 10-11psi...) The fuel/intake/intercooler of my car is safe and stable up to about 16 psi of boost. I have mine at about 15-16 right now. They say every pound of boost on these cars is about .1 seconds off 1/4 mile, if not a little faster. That means if that car that ran 14.2 was at 16 instead of 10, it would run about a 13.6 or so, which is mid 13s, like I claimed....

ok even tho this is what i do for a living working on 2 drag cars my self now but ok man whatever you say if yours is magical and does it then fine man im done arguing but whenever u come to your senses and realize that CI and compression is what make torque because thats what wins races then ill talk to u but until then here u go.

Still waiting for you to make a legit point why a V8 is better than my MR2....

You also still havent told me what YOU drive. I dont care about your friends, I have a friend that drives a GT-R and has a 600+HP RX7 and a 400+hp STI, but those arent mine. What do YOU drive?

I dunno why I want a v8. Maybe it's the sound lol. Hell I I know.

But here's where the debate comes for me. To find a nice rust free 2000-2004 mustang ***** am or camaro with a 9/10 interior I'm gonna drop at least 8k for the car. Realistically 10k+. If I put 10k into the Bonneville ( about 3k into the ****** axles and suspension. That would give me 7k for engine mods. Intense racing has a level 3 cam package for around 3k and another 2k in heads, forged pistons n rods etc And after all that is done I'll still have a few grand laying around for the exact same price as the stock stang or camaro I just bought. But would have a 400 whp Bonneville ( grandpa car or not //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif ) that runs hi 11s low 12s.

I realize the debate here going back and forth and I myself am still undecided

I understand why you are considering making your Bonnie fast, for the rare and unique factor. I tried the same thing with my Thunderbird Super Coupe. Trust me, the more you do to it, the more you will realize why others DONT do it to those cars lol. They are heavy as hell and just not built to take that kind of abuse. My girlfriends cousin just got a very nice 03 Mustang GT that needed a synchro(I think???) for 5k. It is absolutely spotless. I understand he got a steal, but just shows that its possible. Do you have cash or are you going to get a loan? If you have the cash, I would keep the Bonnie for about 5 years and invest that money. You could double it in 5 years...

man again here u go u neglected to mention the big point there of that ur mr2 is TURBOCHARGED dumb *** again back to the fact of compression ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh holy balls just because your car is stock turbo go find stock supercharged car like i said a few days ago 03 cobra
