I have $20K in the bank , and I need to build a musclecar.......

ok

1 mr2 is not a muscle car, not hatin on it.. im sure it's fast, but it doesn't fall under the terms "muscle car"

2 3rd gen camaro's and ***** am's are easy to make fast + their really cheap, there's been alot of suggestions about 60's and 70's cars, and alot about 90's-00's cars... but the 80's are still an option no?

quit with the pissing match.

Yeah thats nice. A dude I work with has a done up GTP, not that crazy, but mid to high 12s. The only problem is, what does he have into that? lol I bet he wouldnt even tell you the truth to be honest. He definitely has more than 10k into including cost of car...
Also, why does it look like the back tires are smoking in his burnout in that 1/4 mile run? lol

Ha. Never noticed that. I have a pic of it on the dyno. It's fwd man. No lie //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

And yea. He has more than 10k into it. He bought the car new plus all suspension , interior mods, gauges ,motor , ******.

****** was around 4k I believe. Heads n pistons 5k , ls1 intake, everything polished n ported and as you can see everything is built up. I would say he has 20k into mods

I always wanted a Pontiac Grand Prix GTP/Bonneville SSei/Buick Park Avenue Ultra, pretty much anything that has the supercharged 3800 series motor because they are awesome.

However I'd be a little worried about driveability when you have 300+hp going to just the front wheels. My car is FWD with 275hp/300 lbs torque and I feel that's about as much power as the front wheels can handle without having understeer issues. Of course you won't have to worry about that if you don't plan on taking fast corners but who wouldn't want to take their supercharged 3800 motor to the track every now and then?

After all this. I think I'm just gonna do a few more mods to the Bonneville, and put the rest away for another few years. I don't really WANT a stang or a ***** am. I WANT a vette. Always have. So I figure 3-4 yrs from now a c6 ( 2006-2008 ish ) should be right around 20. It's worth the wait. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

lol, i didn't read the 14pages, but go get yourself a gen1 turn-key pony-car for 3k, and dump 10k into the body, rubber and engine. higher dollar turn-keys are 90% shoddy body work, which should be re-worked anyways, so expect to put sail panels ($500 for both sides) floor panels, and possibly trunk pannel, then some clean-up on the rest, and build up a gen1 gm engine. trust me, it is way cheaper to work a gen1, then 90's on up, especially now. the market is dirt cheap in comparison for the body parts atm, and the engine work os pretty much all mechanical, and huge market, since it's widely used.... like 10x more than other bases..... you know that 350's, 454's, etc are used more often than anything else. also, you do not have the electronics and such to have to dish out big$$ to tune. soo.... the money for intake, forced induction, tuning, fuel system can eat up your 20k right there, vs, the same power for 5k..........you do the math. once you are done with it, you can sell it and get your vette, and have the experience to boot....... just don't let yourself get reamed by shops charging you 8-12k for the same work a hobbyist can do in his garage 10x better for under 2k....... and the american "muscle car" has just recently returned from it's fade-out in the 70's......

yes sir 102nd Military Police Batallion other members of the military on here know about it too im 22, not 17. the car isnt made for running circiuts, and you know that was supposed to be a dash not a point. ***1/4 mile*** im obviously an idiot for having a car nicer than any you mentioned, more powerful than any you mentioned and for some reason hot sexy vagina just flocks to it whenever they hear the rumble coming. when you drive off in your mr2 sounding like a pissed off bumble bee they laugh at you. wanna have a turning contest? u try it in ur mr2 and ill gently tap the gas on mine with the wheels turned and do a 360 like it was nothing.
we both live in ny, lets meet up and have a fun little race, there is a 1/4 mi track right here come on down, we will do best 6 out of 10, your car is 3 grand, my car has about 8 grand into it (including finding rare expensive parts such as the chrome pieces) in 10 yrs your car will be a junker owned by a 16 year old and about to go to the junk yard, mine will still be a show car, a fast car, and will only increase in value as the years go by. youre just another kid with a ****** little ricer that loves to talk it up. come to the syracuse nationals, it will be in the supercharged warriors section, and bring your mr2, my chevy will be hungry.
What would be the point? Obviously a car that has been worked on for years for nothing but drag racing is going to be faster than a stock Toyota from the early 90s. Either way, I think you need to get your story straight, dude. First you say it is your grandfathers car and you helped him build it when you were a teenager, and now you are saying you have all this money into it. You said you get your money from the Military, that would mean when you were a young teenager(when you were building this car with your grandpa..) you were also in the Military making money to put into it. Either way, I GUARANTEE you that car has more than 8 grand into it.

So... What happens when someone runs into the back of you at a stoplight?

Will insurance just total you out? Or are they gonna look at all that work you put into such an old car? least with audio you can just yank it out. This might be anther thing to think about
