Will 2 12" CVR's in a sealed enclosure (1.50 cubs a piece) be as loud as 1 12' L5 in a vented enclosure (factory kicker box...not sure the cubes) powered by the same amp?

FWIW, amp is Viper D600.1 (1200 watts at 1 ohm)

I think that amp only puts out 600watts@1ohm. I would think the l7 would be louder.

Maybe. But more cone area usually means more sound. But I couldnt tell you for sure.

If you do the CVR's ported, now that will probably sound good also.

anyways.. he said an L5 .. the CVRS will get pretty loud actually, i had 2 wiht around 300-400 watts per in a crappy prefab sealed box. IT got pretty darn loud but was "peaky"

Well,

1. I Drive a Camaro so I dont have the space.

2. I just got a vehicle-specific enclosure and it happens to be sealed.

The L5 was vented and the box was too big it wouldnt fit under my hatch in the well so I had to fold my seats down. It felt ghetto and I didnt like not having a back seat, plus in the event of a crash I could lose my head (literally).

id say the kicker will be louder

if you could do 3.5 cubes, id get a 15" SX http://www.reaudio.com

ive used that L5 and it sounds like poo in that box. gets pretty loud but not so great sq. im running 2 CVRS in a sealed box similar to yours with 300 rms to each and its a very good budget system. gets loud with OK sq
