Bypassing Parking Brake for AVIC-Z1??

Go to the12volt.com they have very experienced installers there whom you can ask anything your little heart desires

if they are wrong then why ask? its not the parking break. wire. iirc there is a sodder joint you must break. if you do it wrong you will kill the unit.

I have tried those things and they didnt work...point blank...so I was hoping someone else would come along and NOT think their advice was right and try to help if they knew any other methods...and soddering is not the answer either...

i got the black box off of ebay for my alpine iva d310, works awesome, havent had any problems. Only downside is its $40, but imo it is worth it.

I would go search around then and try and find the answer somewhere else, if everyone on here is wrong.

I believe you have to give the illumintation wire 3 12V signals between the time you turn on your car and the time music plays. If you have it installed correctly, by the manual, then just turn your lights on and off three times before music plays. I believe there is some device that can be wired to automatically send the pulses when needed, but haven't seen one.

should also mention that I believe you don't want to hook the parking break wire to anything when doing this. just tape it off and let it be. At least that was muy understanding of the walk through.

Toggle the illumination wire to 12v...on/off/on

YOu need to get the Ducati flasher. You can get it from Ducatiboy over at avic411.com

I have it installed and it works like a charm.
