So I bought my brother's Cobalt after my truck engine blew, and he had a Pioneed DEH6700, from a year or two back. He let me keep it. It's a nice unit.
HOWEVER, to hook my Ipod up I had to spend $68 to have some BULLSHlT "brain" installed. What the hell?
With the Kenwood I had in the truck, it was a single cable that plugged into the back of the CD player where the CD changer would go, and then had a stereo jack for my ipod, so I could control my ipod WITH my ipod.
But no. Pioneer has to be a ******-*** company who wants me to control my ipod through their cumm guzzlingly slow interface.
YAY! NOW IT TAKES ME 20 MINUTES TO FIND A SONG I'M LOOKING FOR!!!
I guess I could just take the Pioneer out and put my Kenwood in, but the Pioneer is a higher quality deck, so I'm confused as to what I should do. Plus, I just spent money on the install so it's feel wasteful...
All you need is the IP-Bus to Mini-plug... or IP-Bus to RCA adapter...So I bought my brother's Cobalt after my truck engine blew, and he had a Pioneed DEH6700, from a year or two back. He let me keep it. It's a nice unit.

The iPod has been out for nearly 7years...yeah that deck was released befor the ipod was even availible, all newer midrange models have the cable supplied with it

how?Yeah, that's what I was thinking...
Anyway, I founf a way to bypass the pioneer interface and control using the Ipod. Problem solved.
So we can go back to arguing over who makes the best HU's...
I did that for couple of months. The interface adapter sounds way much better, but 68 bucks to play iPod?? I wouldn't do that. maybe 30.or you could have gotten an auxiliary adapter for 20 bucks and used the 3.5mm head phone jack like i did with mine....
