I got a problem here!

run 1/0 into a fuse holder and then run 4 gauge on the other side into the amp. wire is rated in 20' sections i believe so 18" of 4 will not change the amperage draw enough to create the heat needed to melt the wire. i have the same problem with my amp so i just added a fuse block within 18" which protects the amp and reduces the wire gauge. or get 1/0 and get gauge reducer terminals

and truely the amp wont likely pull 160 amps aside from a second or so at a time and then its not likely. just sayin.
agreed even with burping you should be fine with 4 gauge unless u burp the subs alot, in which the subs will burn before the wire (in most cases, not knocking anyone equipment) but if youre adding a batt to the car wire it next to the amp and run a short length.
