True. I'd think a lot of DIYMA members or very knowledgable guys in general would think 95% of this site is just as dumb as Best Buy workers. But, if they say that, guys would call them arrogant know-it-alls. Yet, ppl in his thread are really doing the same thing to Best Buy workers who may or may not know less than them.Meh, most of the time 90% of the so called ''enthusiast'' barely know enough to get buy. Now you know how I feel about those people.
That is exactly why people think DIYMA is a bunch of arrogant douches, You may have noticed I stopped helping and correcting people as well. Same reason.True. I have quit helping people for the most part as well...That is exactly why people think DIYMA is a bunch of arrogant douches, You may have noticed I stopped helping and correcting people as well. Same reason.
We have no electronics stores. Closest thing is the electronics section in WalmartIts one of the only places I have in town...
they do that because they make "incentives" from the sales. i used to work there until I realized how ghey it was
i used to work there too lol thats how they make a living, commission
I love this whole thread bashing an entire company. Let's put this into prospective. How many BBY's are there in the nation; somewhere around 800-1000? Of course you're going to run into people that don't know what they are talking about. You have at least 900-1200 installers....you can't expect every single one of them to be great. I used to work for the company before I was offered a position at another shop and unfortunately installers don't hire installers, managers hire the installers. **** I can almost guarantee that some of you commenting in this thread don't know everything you THINK you know. If you'd like to make stereotypes that's fine, be ignorant. I know people who work for BBY that are top rated and recognized in the country. ****, one of them is on the top 12 list for installers by ME-Mag.
I've seen people come in my shop asking for 200A ANL fuse to put on their Wal-Mart wiring....then they respond with "I know what I'm doing and this is what I need."
So you can take your individual experience and that's fine, because it is ignorant they didn't know there was anything bigger then 0/1, but take it with a grain of salt.
Obviously there are some people that know what they are doing and some that don't (in any job). Saying the people on this forum are so much smarter than everyone at best buy, meanwhile 4 of the 12 people that have posted in this thread have worked there is dumb. I agree that most of their sales people and installers only know the products they are selling, not the underground brands and therefor are obviously not going to sell you dd/fi/sundown. They are there to make money. There are also many shitty installers at small audio shops, but they may have better brands.you guys wouldn't have said this when i worked there in 98.
My point exactly.I know some installers that work at best buy and know what they are doing. One of them has built probably 15-20 of my designs down to a 31nd of an inch.
just think..yall fixin to be able to buy Kicks!..wooohoo..We have no electronics stores. Closest thing is the electronics section in Walmart
I have been trying to get on with all of them forever... Worked for the smaller one for about half a year but he was too slow to keep me... The other shops know me by first name but still wont hire me...We have no electronics stores. Closest thing is the electronics section in Walmart
