The thing I hate about bestbuy is the constant harassment when I'm simply wandering looking at new products and stuff such as TV's

you wouldn't believe bro. since then, i was addicted

my parents were always very supportive of it and still to this day are. even when the cops showed up at their house for noise complaints from the lezzys at 5pm in the afternoon because they worked 3rd shift and tried to sleep. they always like it. even the 12 lanzar I had in a single bandpass box in my like 100sqft bedroom shaking the whole house LOL

mine was 2 DIK 10's on 100w from an old Yam receiver bumpin Sublime. Those cheap home subs that I picked up curb shopping did wind up in the 2 door Ford Aspire off the Nakamichi HU lol. That was the start....

Reminds me of when I went to one of the local shops here. They said one of their prefab boxes with two 12s on 2k would hit over 160s...lol

take note that one of the top 10 U.S. MECP installers of the year (2010) was a Best Buy installer - Brian Murphy. a great guy, more knowledgeable and experienced with security and OEM integration than anyone else i've seen on the forums. and he's great with fiberglass and every other aspect of car audio installation. i would hand him my car, a wad of cash, and know it would be done right. he works for idatalink now.

but he is one of the rare exceptions.

for the most part, yes, people that work sales in car audio are generally retarded. there are exceptions.

and installers for big box stores are usually retarded. there are exceptions, and i've met some great installers over the years. guys who cared. usually independents. Ultimate Electronics was an exception to big box stores, when they were around. i bought my first xtant 3300x from Ultimate back in 1999.

big box stores make pure profit on warranties and payment programs.

after 15+ years and receiving the highest level of MECP Master certification available, he moved on. He liked the work hours, liked being able to train otherwise worthless installers to become good installers, liked working for a large corporation, and liked the job in general.

working for independents isn't great - budgets are low, stress is high, extra hours are usually high, and pay is usually very low.
