I am already planning on fixing up the body panels, but besides that, what is the first thing I should look to change or improve upon?

Wow... 3100+ posts and you just got your first car.

And ****, 190,000 miles? That is a shit load man.

I would first take it to a dealer or respectable mechanic and have it look over every moving mechanism on the car, because with 190,000 miles something could be upon the brink of breaking.

How much did you pick it up for? Pics??

Alright, basic maintenence when you buy a car is the following:

new plugs

new wires

change oil

change ****** oil

could possibly chain diff oil

new filters all around

make sure charging system and ignition system is in OK shape

That should make things run a bit better for you

make sure blinker fluid and elbow grease are topped off to. kinda embarassing to run out

make sure you dont run out of vtec. Sometimes it can start dripping fluid onto radiator turbine,and then cause the upper manifold to mesh with the intake tubing to create a hemispherical combustion sentence.
