hello Folks
I've just joined as I'm kitting out a van for living in and launching myself into the world of hi-fi.
my background is in computers and what I realise so far is that I want to keep using my digital stash of music (70% flac) from it's current storage medium, handle its conversion to PCM with a small raspberry pi and send the output to a good quality HU (in the first instance, better HW later on) to benefit from the DSP (time alignment), EQ, DAC and amp. I had in mind the well-regarded Pioneer DEH-80PRS but it only does its own format conversion (no flac).
as far as I understand what I'm after is a HU that has a S/PDIF (or perhaps HDMI) input which is after all the connection HU's have internally with their CD players.
anyone know if such exotica exist or am I being irrational?!
