HU skipping past 46.5db???

well i never had this happend to me before in the neon. In the project car the HU starts to skip at 46.5db on about 5 frequencies for burps. Anyone know what the cause is or what the solution would be?

The tone cuts in and out, this was the 2nd test of the project wired to 1.5ohms to 1 amp, I know theres more to gain with this test setup if I can keep the HU from skipping //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Do you mean when burping a 46Hz tone it skips?

The reason I ask is 46dB or thereabouts is a really low volume and if that's all it takes to make your HU skip then I'd say there's serious problems with it. Like - a sneeze is louder than 46dB //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

A decent fart. A cough. It takes very little noise to accomplish 46 decibels...

You realize 46dB is not the same as 146dB, right? Or is that just secret SPL competitor language where they leave off the 1 in front?

46db is just shorthand. go to an event and the announcer will probably say "forty-two six db" instead of "one hundred and forty two point six decibels"

Try pulling the HU out and holding it in your hand when you burp. It it still skip, GET ANOTHER HU!

If it does not skip, you are going to have to mount it better. Try foam around the cage.

Newer rangers are bad about not having good mounts, i know a guy doing 43-44's and his HU skips like crazy.BUT....I have a '98 silverado doing 49's and my HU has never skipped (old pioneer deh-p6400, face plate is stating to go out though). It just the mounts in the vehicle usually.

yeah i had a 'sploder and I'd say it was skipping in the low 140's or high 130's. I havent gotten my van's to skip yet.

I had an Alpine 9807 and it never skipped with the wall

with the 880 its skiptastic

Those 9807s were **** good burp decks for dirt cheap.....just like my premier 780...was so touchy with skipping. New eclipse solved that problem.

the voltage is fine, I have more voltage in the project than i did in the neon using 2 amps.
