Looking for a quality HU to run this setup:

-2 x Polk 4 x 6.5'' Audio DB6500 on Sundown SAX100.2

-2 x 18'' Fi Q w/BP on Sundown 3000D (might become 4xSI Mags if they come out soon).

-4 x Creative Sound SDX7s (midbass) on Sundown SAX100.4

Looking for some good SQL not just SPL. Im in a Bronco so its a 1.5 DIN. Need it to be USER FRIENDLY, high voltage pre-outs, and have audiophile output, and of course, look goooood. I like screens and NAV systems, but thats not what Im hung up on (its nice as long as the other stuff is top notch). I dont need it to be internally amp'd since i have amps for everything already. Budget is $650.

Fire away!!! Im open to ANY Brand. Thanks in advance!!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

If you are not going to be running active you won't need the budget to be so high, unless you want a screen. I would recommend putting more money into your front stage if you are truly going for "SQL."

Look onto the Eclipse CD3200 and Alpine 9886. Both under $300 and will do everything you need it to do.

I am checking out several candidates for components, not 100% on anything yet.

Ive been looking at that Eclipse for a while. Read a few reviews on it and it and so far, nothing negative. Thats definitely one of my top options.

A receiver will not have a biased towards SQL or SPL
Hahahaha, Sorry!!! I must have been posting in the speaker forums too long (any dude that doesnt specify that gets hit up for it right away!). What I meant was "Im looking for audiophile quality" and thats it.

I AM going active, at least for the midbass drivers. I dont have a big screen boner or anything, and I fully expect to find everything I want in a sub >$350 HU. Im Just going that high because if there was something that out did a $350 HU significantly, and was more expensive because it had a really upgraded display or something, then Id PROBABLY go that high if I knew thats definitely what I wanted. What matters is performance definitely, BUT......an body shop owner once told me the part he paid most attention to when painting was the hood because in the end, that was the part he would be looking at the most. I suppose the same could be said about the HU in system. Dont get me wrong, I will never buy crap just because of its looks (check my sig for my old setup, hehe.............Audiobahn //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif), just a different perspective, thats all.

So far so good, Im really curious on what everyone has to say. Keep it coming!!!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

What do you plan on doing with the tweets? Subs? If you are wanting to go active with the mids, then any deck you get that is capable of bandpassing one channel, can cross the other two channels (outputs).

Well the Components already have passive crossovers, so I was going to simply set the HU x-over points at the same freq. The subs ill set at about 100 hz on the HU and refine that with the amp.

Eclipse 8053.....and there is one in the classifieds along with a BLA for a **** good deal if you ask me (no, its not mine either //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif )

Premier 980bt. I can only recommend Pioneer as it and clarions are the only HU's I have ever owned. I'd recommend the 800PRS, but I haven't got the full use out of mine yet. sent my car in to get repainted the weekend after I got it. It was either that or the Alpine mentioned in your thread, but I was too cheap and lazy to buy a new harness.

Edit...NVM you want a screen
