Deck Issue

I have a pioneer premier h/u, and today i was hearing this crackling in my speakers from my ipod cable, and i noticed a wire was loose at the very end of the connector, so i unhooked the ipod and as soon as i touched the ground wire to see the connections, the deck shut completely off. i turned the car off and it wont turn on... i have a feeling that ipod cord shorted out my deck, but i checked the fuses and nothings blown, i checked the harness wires, none are burnt...

any help? im already looking for a new hu, but i dont want to be totally musicless untill then

I have a Pioneer 790bt that did the same thing.. ANd it was brand new

Pioneer blows man, the rca's went out about a month ago, im sick of hearing the low engine humming in my subs.. hopefully theres a way to fix it for now, but has anyone else had alot of problems with Pioneer decks?

I've only had one Pioneer deck though out my car audio career and I will never deal with them again. I know people that have had nothing but problems with Pioneer head units spaning from factory defects to ground issues to God knows what.

If you take the number of pioneer HU's sold vs the number of defects I'm sure their number of bad units is roughly the same to other manufacturers.
