Hu 50x4 Gimme some input

I have had a JVC KD-L200 HU layign around. It is 50w x 4, can that blow/distort my 35w rms/100w max power Infinity speakers?

Can i get opinions on the quality of this unit?

Is anyone selling JVC recievers(w/o face plate)?

it shouldn't be able to, unless you ran it fully clipped for a few minutes...

realistically, the headunit will only give 20 - 30 watts rms anyway.

You are more capable of blowing a speaker by clipping then simply overpowering.

yes, but you would have to be pretty stupid to send a badly clipped 20 watt signal to a 35watt speaker for long enough to kill it... lol

I wonder why the HU said 50 x 4? This caught my attention because i have only seen 22w at the most.

My brand new DUAL blew up mid song.... So i never got to hear the end.

How is the durability on JVC HU's?
