and sold my Panasonic foldout. Not sure of the model, I think it was a 7001. On paper I like the combination of video, built in bluetooth, and the satellite radio capability. So I called JVC and got the XM direct and adapter number to order from Audiovox/Terk. Got those parts, and hooked them up and it says searching for signal. Told the local retail store the tuner and adapter were faulty, so they gave me a new one. Hooked it up, and still searching for signal came up. So I go to Audiovox/Terk's website and make sure I had the right part numbers, and I emailed JVC tech support. Come to find out this radio, and the KD-NX5000 navigation unit do not have an XM direct feature. JVC's reply was "no direct sat radio unit is able. You could use the AUX in for a portable Sat Radio (which would sound like crap". So JVC is advertising this radio as SAT radio ready which is a big point for me since I travel for work every week, and now I can't get XM direct satellite. I've sold my Panasonic unit already, and can only return the satellite tuner and adapter for store credits. I'm pretty angry, and really wish I wouldn't have given JVC a chance. I thought JVC wouldn't really on backwards compatibility. I've emailed them and asked them if they will pay for these satellite pieces that are of no worth to me. So I'm kind of stuck with this radio now.
