Changed my mind, again. No more domes, going with 4.5" mids.
This thread is basically me thinking out loud //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I figured imaging would be better if I had 200 Hz and above aimed at me as opposed to 1 kHz and above, plus I can't find a good crossover for that.
Here is the plan now.
Same tweet of course, but some Seas midranges and midbasses.
Seas H1152 4.5"
Nominal Impedance 8 Ohms
Recom. frequency range 45-5000 Hz
Short term max. power 200 W
Long term max. power 60 W
Sensitivity (1W/1m) 86 dB
Linear coil travel (p-p) 6.0 mm
Max. coil travel (p-p) 9.0 mm
Free air resonance 57 Hz
Price - $46.15 each
Sealed box of 1.5 liters (0.05cf) for f3 of 130Hz
For the midbass these look good, but so do about 20 other drivers, so this could easily change.
Seas H1224 7” aluminum cone woofer
Nominal Impedance 8 Ohms
Recom. frequency range 40-2500 Hz
Short term max. power 250 W
Long term max. Power 100 W
Sensitivity (1W/1m) 87 dB
Linear coil travel (p-p) 12.0 mm
Max. coil travel (p-p) 22.0 mm
Free air resonance 33 Hz
Price - $69 each
BTW I know they are 8 ohms, but I'll just get a powerful amp for them, should be fine.
