how would you wire this

i have a 1200 watt sony xplod amp

200 watts RMS x 2 @ 4 ohms

250 watts RMS x 2 @ 2 ohms

500 watts RMS x 1 bridged @ 4 ohms

i have 2 12's they are dual 2ohms how would i wire this up to get the most power to them possible

can i run that amp at less than what is says stable if it cant handle the load it will just go into protect right and not hurt anything

u will kill it runnin at 1ohm, ur gonna have to run them at 4ohms each. Sorry amp though, my friend killed his even at 2ohms. I would try and get better...

your sony is crap and having kicker subs means nothing. look into a hifonics amp. they are awesome budget amps and make sony look like little school girls. and for any sub wiring questions go to rockfordfosgate.com. bottom right coner of website click on the wiring wizard.

it does not matter how much he paid for the sony it is still not a good amp and that is fact. if you pay 10cents for someone's shit or pay $600,000 it is still crap. and what i meant by it doesn't matter if he has kicker or not is that you don't have to match an expensive kicker amp to kicker subs because their would be no added benefits just cause they are the same both kickers. his options are free to any amps not just the kicker. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Lawl, that just reminded me of the commercial for the Will Ferrel basketball movie when he talks about how much a person sweats. He states something he makes up in his head and then says "that's a fact." Seems to be the same thing you're doing. Are you as smart as a stupid comedy movie?

Anyway, Sony amps may not be great, but ****, he just asked how to wire the thing. So tell him how to wire it or shut the hell up. Or not. We don't care.

I would wire each sub to 4 ohm, and run 1 channel per sub. That is your only option. As far as wiring the subwoofers to get that ohm load, google "subwoofer wiring diagram" and click the second link.

His amp will die at 1ohm stereo, as what he is askin if he can do. So thats what I understand?

i have two dvc 2 ohm L7, they are running now on one hifonics 1606 Brutus. sounds really good Buddy's says its around 120 db (don't know how much i believe anyone without it being metered), my car is not metered, its not pushing those subs anywhere near as hard as they can, i am buying another hifonics 1606 to push them. they sound really good with just the one but your only really getting about 1k rms watts at 2 ohm(instead of the 1100 they rate it at).sorry to say it but your stuck at 2 ohm unless you spring for sundown which is great as well, but none recommends running amps daily at .5(this is the prob i ran into with the hifonics 1606 because 1500 rms is right about what you want, those subs ask for 750 rms watts iv herd alot of guys say it will take 1k rms each) so with all this in mind the two hifnics strapped IMO is the best option for you, for the fact that you can buy one for cheap and if its not quite enough for you its just 220 bucks to get another one and strap them(altho alot of people prefer the hifonics Goliath and vll over the Brutus) once again i am vary happy with it on my two l7( alotho i need to hear them with full watts) great spl subs, pretty shitty for sq tho. have fun soundproofing=)

Um ok, he needs better amp no matter what. That amp aint gonna cut it. I wired my firends at 2ohm stereo and it got so hot ot died after 2 weeks with some POS Insignias. So it wasnt drawing more power, just crap amp. Sorry
