How will this sound system sound?

All right, here's what I'm looking at getting. If I dig hard on eBay, I can get all of this for around $1,100. That doesn't include wiring, and I don't know if I'll need to upgrade my electrical system to handle this or not (if so, how much does that usually cost? battery and alternator?) -- but here are the things I have picked out. Will this thump decently hard?

Head unit:

Pioneer Premiere DEH-P760MP

Amp 1 (front speakers):

Infinity Reference 7520a

97W x 2 @ 4-ohms

Amp 2 (subs):

Infinity Reference 610a

657W x 1 @ 2-ohms

Front speakers:

Infinity Kappa Perfect 5.1 5-1/4'' Components

[powered by 7520a amp]

Rear speakers:

Infinity Reference 9603i

[powered by head unit]

Subwoofers:

2x Infinity Reference 1232w

[powered by 610a amp]

I'm a bit of a purist and I want as many of my components to match as possible. :p Infinity seemed like a good way to go to me. Plus they look sick, lol.

I'm open to suggestions, though.

If I spend a little more (around $1,250), here's what I'm looking at with Infinity.

Front speakers:

Infinity Kappa Perfect 5.1 5-1/4'' Components

FS Amp:

Infinity Reference 7520a

Rear speakers:

INFINITY KAPPA 693.5I

Subwoofers:

Infinity KAPPA PERFECT 12.1D x2

Sub Amp:

Infinity Reference 610a

Head Unit:

Pioneer Premiere DEH-P760MP

So basically I just upgraded the 6x9's and the subs to the Kappa series. I stayed with the reference amps because I couldn't really find any others, plus the power they put out matches the speakers and subs perfectly. Is it still a waste of money? lol.

I can see how you'd want everything to match- but I would rather go w/ 2of the same brand amps, and stick w/ same brand speakers across the board.....if I were in your boat

For Example Soundstream Edge amps/ subs- I recently heard two 10's and was very impressed by how good they pounded(and its an SQ sub as well- would destroy the Reference I assure you) -everything in your trunk will match -and stick to your Kappas up front if you like their sound

Only Infinity sub that people tend to like for good SQ is the Perfect

So if I went with the perfect subs instead of reference, upgraded the 6x9's to the kappa series, and stuck with reference for the amps... is that looking any better?

OMFG....

I was selling my system (barely used) for that price. Look for the thread in Classifieds:

Well, I probably won't be buying anything for a couple more months. I just like to pick stuff out in advance. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif I'll keep it in mind, but chances are I'm just going to pick up new equipment.

If it turns out the Perfect comps/subs and Reference amps don't sound too good together, I might just start again from square one and look at some different companies... but I'm hoping that this setup will bump, because I really like Infinity's style.

^^^Big problem is their amps are nothing special.....

610A has a signal to noise ratio of 70db //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/clap.gif.178cba2c538c68e720c727fcb024b19c.gif

and your frontstage amp has a whopping 83db s/n //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wowflash.gif.89a61f4caede63a11dac36e97d61323e.gif

this is very low for todays standards......

Can you recommend any other specific amps that would compliment the Perfect comps/subs better? They'd have to have the same power output pretty much, since these two reference amps seem like they fit the speakers/subs they're powering perfectly. And they'd also have to be around the same price... when I first pieced everything together, I was looking at about $800.. then I did some upgrades which left me at $1,100.. and then finally I was looking at $1,250. That might not be a lot in terms of car audio, but to me it's a pretty hefty chunk of change. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I want a mono amp going to the subs, but I'm not sure about the speakers. If you're gonna make any recommendations, you could judge whether it would be better to power those Kappa 6x9's with the HU and power the Perfect 5.1's with a 2-channel amp... or to power both sets with a 4-channel amp.

How's kicker?

Kicker KX600.1

600 watt x1 @ 2 ohms

>95 db s/n

$270

Kicker KX250.2

85 watt x2 @ 4 ohms

>95 db s/n

$125

I actually save about $150 by getting the kicker amps.. and I guess their signal-to-noise ratio is better.. but.. is it good enough? I don't even understand what it means, so if you say 70 is too low, I'll just take your word for it. Would the ">95" be adequate? The other thing is, even though they do have that better s/n ratio, they each pump a little bit less power than the Infinities (57w less for the mono, 12w less for the 2-ch.).. does the improved s/n ratio more than make up for that?
