3 prong will let you have 12v power in - A or R is for accessory/remote(middle prong) and then Ground. Power wire from your battery bank to 12v in, power wire from your volt meter to the accessory/remote(middle prong) and then ground that volt meter. Then ground wire from your toggle switch to a ground.

basically i have 2 led 12 volt meters i wanted to hook up so i could monitor voltage on amp and battery and i wanted to add rockers switch

You want a switch to turn the meters on and off? You could just run the red wires to a switched ignition wire in your car, and the white wires to where you want to measure. Black to ground. No switch required.

If you want a rocker switch anyway, just put it between your switched ignition power and the red wires on the meters.

You can also use your amp remote wire to turn them on and off and hot goes to + battery term For one volt meter then other + amp for voltage to amp then ground them both to something or - battery

Just like an amp.. A remote, a +, and a -

If it was a 2 wire volt meter then you would need a switch on the + cable to stop the draw

really? did you do the install also? lol Put the switch on the red wire before the volt meter... inline. like a fuse holder. wahbam
