well idk but for some reason if i go like 15 miles it drops about 3 or 4 lines on the gas guage, and my dad wont believe me because he drove it to Iowa a while back and checked the mileage and it said he got 27 going 70 down the HW, but idk it just runs out of gas soo fast...

Could it be that it's your driving?

yea i thought about that but i dont really speed when im trying to save gas.(which is lately) and it still does the same thing, i dont really even know how to explain it but if i go from my house to the mall, about 15-18 miles away i burn it down from a full tank to about one small line above 3/4 of a tank...now i am no expert on cars bu i know a mid-sized car with a duel overhead 4 cylinder should do better than that

well it wouldn't be THAT bad, and i would at least have something worth the gas usage.

Do you actually measure the MPG? Gas gauges, especially GM's are not accurate //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif Also it isn't about speeding, it's about taking off fast, and I have no doubt in my mind you are hard on that car.

Man quit bjtching. That grand am will do you good if you take care of it. I have a 95 astro van and I want a nice sporty little car, but you dont see me bjtching. It runs very nice and gets good gas mileage too. quarter tank from dallas to oklahoma city, cant beat that. And I think the grand am is sporty enough.

i would have no problem with it other than the fact i have to put a tank of gas in it once a day if i run alot.....and i try not to take off fast anymore but living in the city its hard not to do alot of starting and stopping fast.

and a comaro would be better in gas mileage? You just dont get it. And why you asking a forum on how to convince your parents? None of us know them. You lived with them and know how to convince them more than we do. So go for it champ do what you think that would convince em.

i make 12 an hour building houses in the summer and right now i work at subway.....oh and i have to pay for all my gas and half insurance.

I drove a piece of crap jeep cherokee when i turned 16 and I drove it for a couple of years until I had enough money to buy my ***** am without so much as asking my parents, I worked hard to get the money for the car, the gas, and the insurance, then I told them I was buying myself a car and I was paying for everything, they said ok.
