I know because I've already been through this and realized it myself. I like those little VW golfs myself. Perhaps even the Ford Focus. You can still get a quick car that has good gas mileage AND good crash test ratings.

well i was looking at the new cobalts or the G6 but if you get the cobalt they look like crap unless you get the ss.

Pretty good choices if you like the mid size cars. I prefer the small ones myself. I tried driving my parents Fusion and I hate it. Handles like a concrete block on wheels.

From the way all of you talk you must have treated your parents like $hit! He listens to his parents, is that so bad? If he just does what he wants I bet he'll be out on his own and probably wouldn't even have enough money to drive ANY car.

Whatever you do DO NOT buy a 6 cyclinder version of a mustang or camaro. I bought after high school because of high insurance on the 8's and I regret it to this day. (I still drive it). I should have just saved up and bought something older and more badass. Get an old 60's or 70's car when you have enough money. Dirt cheap classic car insurance and it's a lot cooler than a 99 camaro. Get something on the small side like a mustang with a 289 so you don't completely go to $hit on gas mileage. Just have to make sure it's not a basketcase.

well idk but for some reason if i go like 15 miles it drops about 3 or 4 lines on the gas guage, and my dad wont believe me because he drove it to Iowa a while back and checked the mileage and it said he got 27 going 70 down the HW, but idk it just runs out of gas soo fast...
