How do I know if subs are blown? I have the sub and amp setup in my sig, and was sure that that amp doesnt have enough power to harm the subs, but today the subs sounded a bit diffrent. Sort of...a "cymbal splash sound" but, much lighter of course when they hit hard...

not sure of the sound you are describing... but you can usually tell if a sub is blown by pressing on the dustcap... if it makes a scratching sound going in, its blown.

You can also test if its blown with a DMM, I believe.

triple? wow, sry. So, i just push down on the dust cap...how hard? How loud will the "scratch" sound be?
you can press pretty hard but you wont have to to hear the scratching, dont like step on it or drop a weight on it though... it will be an obvious scratching sound.

i know its move up...not really sure if its made to be pushed in, besides...pushing in small speakers was never a good idea, how is it for big ones?

ur driving me nuts... A sub moves in as equally as it does out.

please, someone else post that this is ok so this guy will believe me

I think theres a way to measure the resistance on the voice coils with a DMM to tell if their blown, but ive never tried this. Anyone know how?

well now that I think about it, if the sub is blown, you shouldnt get any bass at all when you play them. How exactly do they sound "different?"

i told you, there is a splashy sound, like if you dropped a cookie sheet on the floor or hit cymbals together, only its much lighter of course, but thats pretty much the same noise.
