If I buy 6 speakers for my car do I need 2 amps?

Like one 4-Channel Amp for my Compent speakers and a good 2 channel one for my Subs? Would that be best thing to do to make my system use its maxmium potential and really knock?

yes. i would get a 4-channel and a mono sub amp.

Are you going to use one set of components?

If so, might just want to get a two channel for the comps.

Then grab a mono amp for your sub(s).

I was going to get 2 for bak 6 1/2 and 2 6 x 9 for front.

id get a nice 50x4 channel amp, and a mono amp for the subbies. depending on what voice coil configuration they are, hopefully dual 4 ohm coils, you can get 1 ohm stable class D amp for fairly cheap. i am actually selling one for a friend in the classifides if you are interested. will do over 1000w@1ohm for the subs. take a look in the for sale section of the forum.
