How to Keep voltage around 14.4

I might also add that it killed my stock battery under the hood (possibly from high voltage)
yeah your stock battery is most likely a 12v and when the owner changed the alt's charging voltage it probably was frying the battery

Ive been told that alts go hand in hand with batts though? The more alt i have the more batt i need? I was planning on getting 6 phase 320 alt but i was told if i go that way i need more batteries. So im confused. I dont mind spending the $800 for it but if not needed i dont want to.
Who has been telling you this BS?

It also doesn't help that I beat the sh*t out of it on my first few systems. I didn't understand the need to upgrade electrical, lol

There is just way to much crap passing here.. There you to be mods that would pop in and kill the BS.
answer my question I asked on the first page plzzzz:

I heard that the bigger the alt the more strain on the engine and it decreases your mpg... which is why I was gonna get a 270 instead of a 320.... Should I just get the 320? It's only 100$ more... I've already ordered one Kinetic HC2000 (102ah) so I'm gonna have that in the back in addition to my 75ah battery upfront...

So get biggest alt i can and a decent second batt and im fine right? What exactly should i look at for the second batt? Ah? Rc? Ca? "Max amps"?

Screw mpg! 10mpg 4 life! Lol idk ive never heard that one thats a first for me so id like to know as well. Although it does make sense because you get higher idle and higher idle=higher rpm which = more gas waisted

It's more resistance on the crank. So yes it will drop MPG but so does adding 300 pounds of batteries or 200 pounds of subs. I still get 24 mpg on average, mostly high way.

Start with the biggest alt, set gain right, don't boost, good ground. It should be plenty of power.
Aye aye captain! I wish i could be loud and sq like you. You defy all people on every forum saying "loud and clear doesnt exist" your setup is awesome man

Well ****. I'm buying my 275A Singer Alt tomorrow. I already get 12MPG in the city... YOLO I guess, right?
YOLO is right sir (although i now hate you for saying that) but yes in order to play with the big pays you have to pay the price which is an empty wallet, no back seats, no rear visibility, and crappy mileage //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/satan.gif.9c6a335ed7aeeed3ee273e573f1fcaac.gif
