need help wit eq install

So i have a pioneer deck with only 1 pair of pre outs and i just picked up a p.a. equalizer which has 1 pair of inputs and 3 outputs. The thing is that each output channel has its on settings, sub, front, and rear. So for the my highs which is only 2 chs do i use y splitters to connect 2 of the outputs to the amp. Also will i be able to use both of the pair of setting

You just connect the front outputs to channels 1/2 on the amp. Which amp are you using for this? Any subs?

Well theres only 1 set of inputs on the amp. But there is 2 outputs for the highs each with different settings. The 2 ch. Is something i dont want to talk about its a crappy power bank. Then i just picked up a mb quart onxy 1600 for the sx 18

It's a POS product. I just have a feeling you are going to turn everything up. Nothing against you but that's what normally happens.

no i understand what your saying. but is this something that might happen becuase the unit it self makes you want to turn in because of its poor quality? im trying to play it smart for this is my first system and ive been collecting everything for about 4 months. the sub and the mono amp are siting in the house waiting for me to buy an o scope this friday and hopefully in a few weeks replace my stock batt with a xs power d3100. i would hate to lose my 300 sub so im trying to be safe. im not even install my bass knob lol.... and what you think about my cheap as amp mb quart 1600..... i couldnt wait for a better amp. summers ending and my truck is not banging yet......

Just daisy chain from the mb to the other amp. Skip the eq. They do more damage than good.

Why are equalizers bad for your system? I see alot of people using them. If its no good ill just save it

It's not that EQs are bad. It's what EQ and how it's used. 99% don't use them right.

I used an EQ for years a long time ago and never had any issues. I think that people have gotten away from it cause of the HU's eq. since they've come along ways since the 90s. From what I recall I actually liked my EQ and am actually considering putting on another eq. on my system. Trends change and people follow but in all reality how bad can eq really be?

Do you know how to use one right and what tools are needed? Do you understand they are meant to cut out peaks not boost what's not there? If not all they do is distort the signal.

My sound was very clean with the eq. I used it to lower and higher mids, highs and lows. It basically gave me an form

Of controlling the sound. I didn't distort at all and back then all tunning was by ear too. It looked cool too, the bands light up .

Like I said before. EQs are a very useful tool if you know how to use them. Most don't know how to use them, these cheap dash units are pointless. People that buy them just turn the knobs all the way up. You seem to know a lot for somebody that ask so many questions about the most basic aspects.

Well im ordering a dso nano if that helps. I dont want to mess anything up. The main reason i got the eq was for the inline driver. I need a bit of head room since my deck only has one output thats 2volt. If i can get that up to 4 i would has less strain on my cheap *** amps....so your saying just take it easy right? I didnt get it to add bass. If anything i love loud and clean highs
