I don't have a problem with religion, what I do have a problem with is people that try to force feed there shitt (Like the *** clown who started this page) on to other people and feel that they are better than everyone even know they do not follow Christs teachings but still call them themselves christians.

I started this thread and I am not forcing it on you. You chose to click this thread. I haven't posted this in any other thread, therefore it is not forcing it. I have a right to my beliefs just like you do. Secondly, I AM the one who is following Christ's teachings. Yes, I am a Christian because I have accepted what Jesus Christ did on the cross to pay for my sins as the bible clearly says.

What ever happened to the importance of humility? Trying to convert everyone and claiming that your beleifs are better than ours isn't exactly humble. But you have fun in your imaginary world.

However, I will thank you for one thing. This thread has inspired me to get a tattoo of the last supper. Only the disciples will be replaced by other fictional characters, like santa clause and the ninja turtles

Apparently to get everyone to accept the same bullshit he does. To scare people into believing in his religion.

I'm not saying religion is a bad thing. If you actually study it, and something resonates with you, then by all means, believe what you believe. But trying to get people to believe stuff without careful evaluation and exercising free thought is ridiculous)

So why do you think they mainly go to 3td world countries? It's it because these people want to be saved or is it just because the church knows that if they give the people of these poor counries food and shelter they can feed them full of bull shitt. Here is a good question for ya, who's to say which religion is right? The majority of christians believe that they are practicing the right religion and that all other if they do not convert are ****ed. If this was the case how sure are you that you are following the correct religion?

...but it's your choice to accept it or not. Therefore, it is NOT forcing my views on people. You can leave this thread. It's not in your face. Muslim force their views on people by murdering them if they don't accept it. That's forcing views. Getting in your face would be forcing my views. I've done nothing like that. You just don't like what I have to say, so you call it forcing my views. What I am telling you is what the bible says, it's not coming from me. The choice is yours if you are going to believe it or not, but you do have to suffer the consequences if you reject it. That's not forcing my views, that's warning you of what the bible says. You have the choice to believe it or not.

That's absolutey false. We don't believe in spreading by force. It's only done through persuasion. It doesn't mean anything anyways if it doesn't come from the heart.

Methinks you forget about the Crusades. If that wasn't spreading religion by force, I don't know what is. Now, they just manipulate third world people to join the church by giving them food and clothing.

The only "proof" you have that god exists is the Bible, a book which has been proven wrong on many points. I am not saying that god or some higher power doesn't exist, I am saying that nobody can prove it. You don't KNOW god exists. You don't KNOW Christ exists. You BELIEVE, you have FAITH in their existence. Knowledge and belief are two different things.

If belief in a higher power makes you feel good, gives you hope, gives you perspective, gives you an idea of where you belong in this gigantic universe, then by all means keep believing. Some people, like myself, would rather believe in what we see. I think that something else is out there. There are times when I have felt like I was connected to something larger. But I don't KNOW what that was, and I am not about to take the word of a bunch of ignorant people that wrote different parts of a book millenia before I was born. If God does exist, I don't think he would want us to just accept somebody else's word on such a big subject. If there is some grand design, I have to think that humanity's inquisitive nature and ability to reason are part of it. Why would a god make give us logic and reason and a constant thirst for knowledge if he meant us to disregard it and believe in a bunch of old fairy tales?

I know it was just a comedy movie, but I think Chris Rock in Dogma had a very good point. Beliefs are dangerous. They leave no room for new knowledge and flexibility. It's much better to have ideas about things. Ideas can change, they can adapt. Nobody knows anything until he sees the proof with his own eyes.

One of the ideas I try to espouse came from Indian Larry. Always keep asking the big questions, even if you know you'll never find the answers.
