How to get car audio from distributors

I was just wondering how the people (and this is just an example) get JL audio products and sell them on ebay? They are obviously trying to hide their tracks because they come with the serial numbers removed.

There are other online stores that carry JL as well. JL seems to be pretty blunt about how they feel about this, so how do these online retailers get their hands on this stuff?

well it just depends you have alot of sales reps that sell sideways to fatten there pockets to unautorized dealers that's why most are missing #'s so that the salesmen doesn't loose say jl or whom ever the brand is...... but you can make up a buss. name and get tax ID # and you can buy from a dist. find a local one where you can buy in person with no real buy in amount you can even get an ebay store and drop ship to make a little side cash hope this helps

From what I understand:

If you want to sell car audio, usually you have to go through a local area sales rep. In this case you have to buy several thousands up front.

If you are in an area without a sales rep then you can buy directly from the manufacturer. Then resell at small amount over cost (not the crazy shipping prices from these vendors?) In order to combat these vendors, manufacturers will not perform warranty service on these items sold.

Sometimes you can get it online for 1/2 a real store. So if it comes down to it I will justr buy 2 or have mine repaired and still come out ahead. I bought 1.2 my stuff from stores and the other half online. It's all in what you believe the warranty is worth. There is also a customer service issue sometimes, but sometimes I have problems with customer service at authorized places.
