Ok so I am working on my mercedes E350. Factory stereo provides digital ONLY signal to factory amp. I think the amp has BASS eq circuitry. Turn the volume up--- the bass goes WAAAY down.

I bought a AC LC2i with bass restoration circuit.

It helps, but it can't overcome the factory eq.

Is there a workaround? Or am I just going to have to wait until I can replace my factory GPS/stereo?

Hope not. Prolly new head unit in the future.

The factory radio doesn't have a set bass roll-off.

It gets steeper, the higher the volume goes. ***** for added sub.

The lc2i is trying to correct, but the factory processing is just too strong.

I yanked all the factory stuff out of my CLK and redid a complete system though they use fiber optics they are still behind on electronics....I think all that is left is the factory rear deck Bose subs that I’ll hook up from time to time and use as midbass

That’s normal. All of us still using stock decks deal with it with input EQ

I used a JL FIX 86 to integrate with the Ford factory radio. It will automatically undo the factory EQ and time alignment to give your amplifiers a clean signal to work with. You may need the seperate volume knob from JL though because the fix can’t factor in changing EQ with the factory volume knob. With my Ford I use the factory volume knob within a certain range and use the JL Fix volume knob in conjunction where I know the factory bass roll off is greatest. They also have a JL FIX 82 with a digital input but I think it’s meant to work in conjunction with its DSP counterpart the Twk 88, which is also great. You can try the JL software for these units for free by downloading it (called tuN 2.0) from their website.
