how to choose dry cell battery

i needing help on buying a battery my current set up is 2sa12s aq1200d 4 cu box 34hz so i planning on ugrading to 2000 rms amp later on ok so my question is how to choose a battery do i looking for cranking amps or ah or max amps on battery so im confused any help thanks bassheas like me http://cdn1.caraudio.com/images/icons/icon12.png

that is absolutely the opposite of help.

OP couple things to look at is ah and cranking amps. some will say one is more important than the other. good rule of thumb is have the minimim cold cranking amps as you do RMS. thats a good rule of thumb to start with.

yea... sorry to thread jack just trying to get more info on this as well before i purchase something I may not need. right now im aat 14.3 volts with just stock bat/alt and big 3 dont know whats my next move from here as far as the electric goes

terrible rule of thumb....thats just how much a typical amp pulls from you electrical....some amps more some amps less.....you have to remember AH plays the biggest role when looking for a battery....you first need to start with your alternator and figure out whats its idle amperage is and what its max amps are...then from there u can figure out how big of a battery you need....

yes but upgrading the battery alone isnt going to solve anything...your alternator should be your first fix....with out it u will drag down ur battery over time

I don't agree that you should change your alternator first before you upgrade your battery or get a 2nd battery?

why not? if you exceed your alternator output more than just a little and more than occasionally, then all you are doing is dragging down the battery and overworking the alternator, which has to at least 3x the work to recharge the amount you drain. this is usually death to batteries and alternators. the alternator is where the power comes from, after-all...
