how to blow a sub

I understand what you are saying, I was just saying that a noob with a weak amp(underpower) will turn the gain into clipping because he wants more power and thay CAN damage a sub

you gotta get a regular orange extension cord and cut off one end, wire the bare wires to your sub terminals and then shove the sicketed side of cord into an outlet,

If that doesnt work get a spare cord for a washing machine and do same thing at 220 and if you have a DVC sub make sire to wire in paralell.

thats about it.

playing below tuning or too much power clipped or clean will do it.

Blown = exceding the mechanical limits of the driver resulting in damage to the suspension or voice coil.

Most common damage to subwoofers is clipping the signal resulting in more power, causing the coil to heat and melting the glue that holds it to the former. Loose coil will allow rubbing and possibly let it slip off the former and it ends up crushed into the gap.

To damage the subwoofer just put it in a box tuned for 40hz and play it at 25hz with the amp gains cranked and the volume cranked so most of what you hears is distortion.
