The crossovers for my M6 components have an attenuation adjustment for the tweeters and the midwoofer but the adjustments are separate for each - not a single adjustment that affects both parts.

if passive, then +3db is really just LESS attenuation. 0db would be where the manf. would consider the sound 'balanced.' just my thoughts.

most are 0, -3, -6

in this case, +3 is 3db louder than the middle setting, and -3 is 3db quieter than the middle setting.

it's all relative.

My Power Acoustik XP2K-50C crossovers have a 0, 3-, and -6 for the tweet. All three work like a charm and made me cream my pants last night when i was testing them. Sounded so crazy good.
