how old are you and your audio obsession???

30. audio obsession started at 18, but the funds didn't. completely fried my first cd player (sony) by forgetting to unhook the battery. was kinda high, which cost me a head unit. could have been the reason for not having any money also.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smokin.gif.f1dc8d2acb1809e863ebd6a47eaa0d45.gif

I'm 42, just got my first system: Alpine 9805 HU, CDT HD62US comps, Phoenix Gold Xenon 200.2 frontstage amp, 2 10" CDT EF-100 subs in a sealed enclosure powered by a Phoenix Gold Xenon 600.1.

Next up, new HU.

Im 17 and been into car audio since I was 12. I installed my first head unit in my sisters 89 Sentra right before I turned 13. I had been wantin a system since I had my permit. My first system which I got when I was 16 was a RF P2002 with a MTX 5500 hooked to it in the same 89 Sentra (it was passed down to me). Now I have an Accord wagon (geezer mobile but plenty of room for boom!) awaiting its 2 15's.

I started getting into this when someone stole my JVC HU.:crap:weird start I guess... lol

Right now I'm getting ready for a true 2.1 setup in my room with all the christmas sales prices comin' soon hopefully:D

It's funny how our ears demand alot.

Going on 33 now.

Started around 13 helping my older brother...he was 18 at the time. Started in a shop part time at about 15...stayed with a few shops over the years then started my own around 27. Now also a manufacturer rep for various companies.

38 years young. Started playing guitar when I was 13 was in my first rock and roll band by 16. Thats what got me into liking my music load and sounding good. My first car stereo was a Kraco HU with a Pioneer equilizer/power booster with some Cerwin Vega home stereo speakers that we would set on top of my old monte carlo and crank up the music at Surfside Beach while we played horse shoes, drank cold beer and checked out the ladies. Man I miss them days.

Gads... Well you know I am old when I have to stop and think to answer this question... (You also know I am old when I use terms like "Gads"...)

I am about to turn 39. First got into audio in the late 80's when I got my first CD player. My first (and only) install was a tape deck into an '85 Fiero when the stock one took a dump and I couldn't afford to have it done professionally.

Since then as my income grew, so did my systems, to the point where I was too afraid to tackle the stuff on my own.

THIS time will be different though. Though I am having the system installed initially, it is my plan to start with a simple speaker swap when I can buy the comps I want (within the next year or so). After that, I plan to add some mid-bass and an amp. Who know where that will lead...

Eventually I hope to learn car audio how I learned computers... Started by adding a sound card, now I build my own. I am a little late for the game, I know, but better late than never. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

20...been involved in electronics ever since I got my amateur radio license @ 13, only been into the audio side of things for about 4 years or so. Became a tube and analog nut two years ago //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
