yeah, my dads company builds houses upto around 25 million, sometimes i go to do work on some of the million two million dollar ones and am baffled as to why someone would spend that type of money on a house thats only 5k or so sq feet. The last one i put a floor in for him was a 10k sq ft house, but it only had 3 bedrooms and one of them was used by the guys parents who lived upstairs. He's a doctor, single (imagine that) and about 50.. weird guy. That house was 8 million by the way. just silly

same as a million dollar home anywhere? A house here in iowa that just sold for $2.5mill would prolly bring like $15mill in nyc or LA etc. A $180k house here, would prolly cost a mill in the LA //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif.

How big of house there can ya get for say, $250k?
Just north of Dallas: ours is worth about $270K and I have over 3000 sq ft. Great area, great schools, abundant golf . . . can't beat it (except that **** commute, but oh well.)

My house appraises for $600 ish and it is tiiiiiny. San Jose house prices are no joke. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif

I want to buy something like this...soon //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Keep the 5 bdrm first floor for me and rent out the other 3 apartments. Then while living there, I'd do some work to the yard and house, build another 2 car garage.

So I would live decently there if I sold my $425K home here?
Many of the people who work with me at Lowe's cashed out of homes in fast growing areas and 'retire' here. I would have to know what kind of home you wanted, but I would guess you could get a similar home for $250k. Size of home would depend on whether you wanted a subdivision or 'out'.

However, you wouldn't sell $20k worth of equipment. Rainbow doesn't have enough chrome and ported boxes are the newest craze. Carpeted boxes are optional. You would have a hard time to convince anyone you could install better than a best buy tech.

Also, people wouldn't like you because you are from the North. I've talked to you on the phone...people don't talk like that around here...not that that is bad, just a different style.

My house is 1500sqft with a full basement and attc both unfinished. 75X100 lot. Put on the opposite side of the same town it would go to about 600K.
Add about 300 square feet, an acre of land, full hardwood floors and marble (real) counter tops...Maybe $300k. I am talking about Murfreesboro (suburbia USA). In Nashville, it would be about the same.

My ex-GF just bought a condo in June in Burnaby, BC ...
$267,000 for 780 sq ft ... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
Wow. Just wow. That is more than I paid for my house. If anyone wants to relocate, I am VP of a Real Estate brokerage. We can get you taken care of //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

A few months ago, I saw a 3 bdrm 1500sqft + indoor pool, in a good neighborhood for $320. House was in good/very good shape. You could also pwn all the shops here, if you were to open one //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/greedy.gif.5a53e6246569d7ab79867170f3b06629.gif.
